PRAM - Postnatal Care Resource Allocation Model

Welcome to the website for the Postnatal Care Research Allocation Model (PRAM).  PRAM is a joint initiative between Stirling Management School , the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions Research Unit (NMAHP) and the Royal College of Midwives

Our project aim is to draw on ideas from management science and health economics to develop a suite of novel, systematic service planning tools which can be applied to the redesign of postnatal care. The project is strategic to the aim of advancing current thinking in midwifery practice and promoting improvement throughout maternity healthcare generally.

We are gathering evidence on the current postnatal care service at a range of NHS case sites. The service planning tools we are developing will incorporate enough flexibility to allow them to be tailored to diverse socio-economic and geographical environments which may have widely different care service needs.
