Lectures and Seminars: 2 hrs lecture per week and 4x2hr seminar = 12 hrs lectures and 8 hours hrs seminars over 6 teaching weeks.
|Assessment||Assessment will comprise of a literature review exercise (50%, 1,500 words max.) and an in-class MC test (50% of the module grade). The literature review will allow students to demonstrate the basic skills of identifying and critically evaluating relevant academic literature and of identifying research opportunities and questions. The in-class test will allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the (other) topics within the module.|
The aim of this module is to introduce students to research methods in accounting and finance. The module will cover the basics of epistemology, different research paradigms, formulating research questions, critical literature reviews, qualitative methods and research ethics.
