Welcome to the MSc International Human Resource Management programme. We hope you are looking forward to starting your studies with us.
The MSc International Human Resource Management teaching and administration team looks forward to meeting you on your arrival at Stirling.
The University of Stirling Management School will be running several introductory events in September to ensure that you settle in quickly, and help you understand how the university can help you with your studies.
Some of these events are lectures that give an overview of the Stirling Management School in addition to a specific induction lecture on the MSc International HRM. These lectures are extremely useful, and therefore attendance is compulsory.
The Stirling Management School Induction Lecture will be held at 10.00am on Monday 11th September in Macrobert Main House Theatre. Following this the MSc International HRM Induction Lecture will be held at 2.00pm in room 3A142 Cottrell.
PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR YOUR MODULES UNTIL YOU HAVE ATTENDED THE PROGRAMME INDUCTION MEETING.
At the induction lecture you will get to meet your classmates and some of the academic staff who will be guiding your studies for the rest of the year. The Programme Director will explain the structure of the programme, discuss what we expect from you and take any questions about what you expect from us.
As the MSc induction lecture gives you a lot of important information, if you find that you cannot make this lecture because of travel or visa delays then please let us know as soon as possible by email: email@example.com
Your academic career at Stirling begins with The Flying Start Leadership Programme. The first two weeks of your timetable are dedicated to this pioneering Programme. The Flying Start Leadership Programme is specifically designed to facilitate your transition into your academic studies by providing opportunities for you to meet and work with staff and fellow students, challenge your perceptions of culture, explore your beliefs and values, build your confidence and self-esteem, and encourage you to share your ideas. The Flying Start Leadership Programme equips you with the skills sought by graduate employers and will help you to effectively manage your chosen future career. The timetable for this will be available soon.

Please check this important induction website again soon for further information regarding the start of semester.
The most common question we are asked is what preparation you can do before you arrive in Stirling. Your understanding of Human Resource Management will be enhanced if you can see how people issues are part of business. The best preparation for advanced study is to read the business pages of a quality international newspaper in the English language daily. It will help you situate the theories and perspectives we will cover on the course in real life examples, not just in your own country. Please do not feel that you must buy textbooks, or read academic texts before your arrival. Being well-informed about the business news is more helpful.
Your confirmed timetable for the first few weeks at Stirling will be available at the start of September. We will go through this information in more detail at the Induction Lecture.
