MSc Economics for Business & Policy

Welcome to the MSc Economics for Business programme.

I am Dr Mirko Moro, the Programme Director for this programme, and I look forward to meeting you when you start your programme in September.

The University of Stirling Management School will be running a number of events at the start of semester to ensure that you settle in quickly and that you understand how your new university can help you with your studies.  These classes are extremely useful for you and attendance is compulsory.

Stirling Management School Induction Lecture will be held on Monday 11th September 2017 from 1000 hours - 1200 hours in Macrobert Main House Theatre. The Economics for Business and Policy induction lecture will be held from 1200hours - 1400hours in cottrell room 2B45. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by email: economics@stir.ac.uk.

You will get to meet your classmates and some of the academic staff who will be guiding your studies for the rest of the year. I will explain the structure of the programme, discuss what we expect from you and take any questions about what you expect from us.

Your academic career at Stirling begins with The Flying Start Leadership Programme. The first two weeks of your timetable are dedicated to this pioneering Programme. Attendance is compulsory for all taught postgraduate students within Stirling Management School, and will be monitored throughout the duration of the programme. Upon satisfactory completion, you will be awarded the 'Flying Start Leadership Programme Certificate of Participation'.

The Flying Start Leadership Programme is specifically designed to facilitate your transition into your academic studies by providing opportunities for you to meet and work with staff and fellow students, challenge your perceptions of culture, explore your beliefs and values, build your confidence and self-esteem, and encourage you to share your ideas. The Flying Start Leadership Programme equips you with the skills sought by graduate employers and will help you to effectively manage your chosen future career.

Please check this important induction website again soon for further information about the start of the semester.

If you have any questions regarding the programme, please contact the Programme Administrator on economics@stir.ac.uk  or +44 1786 467455. They will be happy to answer any questions or queries you may have.
