Welcome to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) course. We hope that you are looking forward to starting your course in a few months.
I am Professor George Burt, the Programme Director for the course and I look forward to meeting you on Monday 11th September 2017.
The Stirling Management School will be running a number of events in September to ensure that you settle in quickly and that you understand how your new university can help you with your studies. These classes are extremely useful for you and attendance is compulsory.
The Stirling Management School Induction Lecture will be held on Monday 11th September 2017, at 1000 - 1200 hrs in the Macrobert Main House Theatre.
The DBA Induction Lecture will be held on Monday 11th September 2017 at 1300 hrs in Cottrell Room 2A9/2A11.
It is very important that you arrive ready to start on this date.
At the course induction lecture you will get to meet your classmates and some of the academic staff who will be guiding your studies for the rest of the year. I will explain the structure of the course, discuss what we expect from you and take any questions about what you expect from us.
Flying Start Leadership Programme
Your academic career at Stirling begins with The Flying Start Leadership Programme. The first two weeks of your timetable are dedicated to this pioneering Programme. Attendance is compulsory for all taught postgraduate students within Stirling Management School, and will be monitored throughout the duration of the Programme. Upon satisfactory completion, you will be awarded the 'Flying Start Leadership Programme Certificate of Participation'.
The Flying Start Leadership Programme is specifically designed to facilitate your transition into your academic studies by providing opportunities for you to meet and work with staff and fellow students, challenge your perceptions of culture, explore your beliefs and values, build your confidence and self-esteem, and encourage you to share your ideas. The Flying Start Leadership Programme equips you with the skills sought by graduate employers and will help you to effectively manage your chosen future career.

Your reading list can be viewed at DBA Provisional Reading List 17-18 . However, please note that we do not recommend you buy text books prior to arrival as these are subject to change.
