The Enterprise Zone is located with the University library and has been created with a generous donation from Jim McColl, OBE - entrepreneur and businessman.
The enterprise zone was formed so that entrepreneurs, business people and others interested in commercial and social ‘Enterprise’ can interact with the expertise of University staff, research groups and our students. The flexible space provides a lecture theatre space (for up to 60 participants) and can be divided into two rooms and two boardrooms, which in can be converted into a larger single room. The foyer area contains informal seating and presentation facilities including full video conferencing (42’ plasma TV and multiple cameras) and interactive whiteboards.
The Enterprise Zone can often be used free of charge by University staff and students. External groups can also use the rooms free of charge if they are providing a course, training or working with the University, as long as it relates to social or commercial enterprise. It is also available for commercial use, providing businesses with an inspirational environment to meet and present to their client.
