Student email

All students at the university get your own student email account automatically as part of your network account.  The system used for students at Stirling is Outlook Web App (OWA) which is part of Microsoft's Office365 offering.

You must use your university email account as it is the official means by which the university will contact you and we can identify you by your email address when you contact us. You can also use your university email for personal email.

About Outlook Web App & how to access it
The student email system is a cloud-based service, Microsoft Office 365, utilising the Microsoft Outlook Web App.   The benefits of this service include most of the features of the full version of Microsoft Outlook, but in a web page:

  • Accessed via the portal or directly via
  • A full calendar and meeting request service (including library study room booking)
  • A comprehensive contact management system
  • Task lists
  • Instant messaging between contacts
  • Easy set up and advanced functionality for your mobile device 
  • 25GB of email storage!
  • Upto 25MB attachment limits. Any larger can be used with our Filedrop facility (files up to 2GB)
  • access to the whole suite of Office365 apps including free download of core products like Word, PowerPoint, Excel to your personally owned device
