Our aim is to help postgraduates utilise Stirling’s innovation and excellence to realise their ambitions.
The Stirling Graduate School (SGS) was set up in 2011 to drive a transformation of the student body and experience. This is linked to the University’s ambitious Strategic Plan to expand postgraduate provision for both taught and research postgraduate study.
The postgraduate student experience is often deeply embedded in Academic Schools, with specialised courses and staff and with research groups and supervisors. Stirling Graduate School has been established as a 'virtual' School working in partnership the Academic Schools and Service Areas to enable postgraduates to maximise the benefits available to them during their time at Stirling.
The SGS is involved in establishing and developing best practice and consistent standards of expectation and performance. We are looking to build on subject-specific postgraduate experiences with dedicated generic skills programmes and targeted student and staff support.
We aim to understand and enhance the student experience at Stirling, whether you are studying for a specialised taught Master's programme or a PhD and whether you see your future in the UK or elsewhere, or in academic, corporate or public life.
