Each year, the Art Collection's exhibitions, events and workshops are directly inspired by the research of the University. This year the focus is on the environment, and with the umbrella title ‘Under Threat’ we highlight a variety of pressing issues. We also, however, wanted to celebrate the beauties of our natural surroundings.
This small exhibition features three works by Scottish artist Kirstie Cohen, and a new etching by Norman Ackroyd, which the artist kindly donated to the Art Collection last year. Both artists have visited this remote archipelago on the distant northwest reaches of Scotland, far out in the Atlantic Ocean, and captured the special magic of the place in these works.
