Inaugural Lecture: Fever, personality and immunology

Understanding how immune systems evolved is fundamental to the development of a one health perspective in both human and animal health. The exceptional diversity of fish provides opportunity to develop models with unique characteristics that provide meaningful insight. How immune systems perceive threat, how and why fever evolved and individual variation will be discussed.
