Try your hand at Shogi, (Japanese Chess) 

Dr Shuzo Sakata, senior lecturer in systems neuroscience at the University of Strathclyde will give an introduction into the principals of Shogi, followed by a masterclass to show you how to play!

During this unique cultural event, Dr Sakata will explore Shogi from its origins in the 16th Century to the present day, where it is also known as the 'Game of Generals' and he will deliver a hands-on Shogi workshop.

No previous knowledge of Shogi required.
