The University of Stirling welcomes you to the 33rd Williamson Lecture. We are pleased to confirm that Sir Julian King, European Commissioner for the Security Union, will deliver this year's lecture.
As the UK and EU begin the next phase of Brexit negotiations, Commissioner King will discuss the benefits of continued UK-EU cooperation against terrorism and cybersecurity, and some of the issues that will need to be worked through in developing a future UK-EU relationship.
All are welcome to attend this free event, but please book your place online in advance.
This annual lecture was established in memory of Andrew John Williamson, a Politics student who was killed in a road accident in 1981. The memorial lecture was created and funded by his parents with the aim of bringing a high profile political speaker to the University each year to speak on a theme of contemporary political interest. Previous eminent speakers have included Alex Salmond, Alistair Darling, Michael Portillo and James Naughtie.
