Autumn Art Lecture: 1967 - a year of rebellion and revolution

The Art Collection is celebrating the University's 50th anniversary by focusing on the cultural impact of 1967, the year it opened its doors to students for the first time. This year’s Autumn Art Lecture will be a roundtable discussion with Stirling Academics chaired by Professor Douglas Robertson and will consider what was happening in the wider world in the year that students came to this new University. Topics to be discussed will be UK and world politics, TV, sport, art and literature.

This event is held in conjunction with the 1967 exhibition held in the Art Collection in the Pathfoot Building which was the first and only teaching building on campus as the students arrived.  The exhibition’s visual focus will be Music, Art, Film/Photography, Fashion, Furnishing and Architecture.
