International conflicts, recent disasters and high profile crimes have brought to attention the psychological consequences that some people experience when exposed to such events.
Given the increased awareness of trauma related stress, this conference will examine recent developments in psychological trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. It will present examples of recent research on how clinicians can support and provide treatment options for people experiencing post-trauma psychological symptoms. Additionally, it will provide a forum for discussing the implementation of trauma informed care and how this can be embedded within mental health training, education and undergraduate programmes.
