Japanese Week: Dojo Performance Team

25 Mar ‘14

7.00PM - 8.15PM

Venue: Pathfoot building, University of Stirling

Join the Dojo Performance Team for a performance of exciting taiko drum rhythms, dynamic choreography and high energy, brought to you by the Mugen Taiko Dojo, the UK's centre for taiko drumming, based in Central Scotland.

Taiko drumming is a centuries' old folk tradition, a festival music originally from Japan and now performed as a modern art form all over the world. The Dojo Performance Team has performed at all kinds of festivals and events across the UK and are an exciting addition to any occasion.

For more information:

The performance will follow the Opening Lecture by Mr Jun Arima of JETRO London (Japan External Trade Organisation) at 6pm, with a drinks reception at 7pm.  The performance will begin at 7.30pm.

Guests are invited to join us for the lecture and drinks reception.  Sushi will be served at the drinks reception, courtesy of the Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh.  The University also thanks the Japan Society of Scotland, Japan Society of the UK and the NPO Japan Scotland Association for their generous support.

This event is part of the University of Stirling's Japanese Week and all events are open to staff, students and members of the public. Please visit our website for details of other events.
