12.00PM - 2.30PM
Venue: Stirling Court Hotel, University of Stirling, Stirling, FK9 4LA
The ramifications of the US election result will spread far and wide, affecting the fabric of global trade, business, politics, and all sectors of our economy and society. On the 16th November, the Asia Scotland Institute presents a unique opportunity to better understand what this means here in Scotland & the UK, and how you should respond.
There are few people better placed to make this assessment than Asia Scotland Institute Trustee Elizabeth Linder. Before working at Facebook she launched her career at Google, building YouTube’s Global Communications and Public Policy team. Elizabeth is now Founder and CEO of The Conversational Century, and has advised politicians, government officials, royal families, and leaders in over 40 countries.
Elizabeth will be joined by Shanker Singham. Shanker is a UK and US citizen and a globally renowned expert on trade and competition and regulatory frameworks - he has authored the textbook on the subject. He advises businesses and governments, including the United States Trade Representative and Department of Commerce, the International Competition Network, and he was Senior Economic Advisor to Democratic Governors Lawton Chiles and Buddy McKay of Florida as well as Governor Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
