Sending external mail

Each School/department is issued with a 3 digit mail code which should be clearly marked on their outgoing external mail items. This ensures the cost of posting is recharged to the correct School/department. Schools/departments are encouraged to restrict the volume of first class mail only to those items deemed essential to receive this priority.

If sending multiple envelopes, we would be grateful if the mail is separated into each service type i.e. 1st class/ 2nd class/ airmail etc. and each bundle banded and coded with the 3 digit mail code.

Bulk mailing

We request that all bulk mailings are booked in at least one business day prior to despatch date. However, the more notice that can be provided to mailroom staff the better, as this enables them to schedule other priorities. Bulk mailings should be delivered to the mailroom for processing by 12 Midday.
