Lynn Whiteside, Stirling Management School

Stirling Management School appointed Lynn Whiteside as the School Employability Manager in 2012. Lynn’s role is to plan, support and develop employability practice in partnership across the School, with a particular focus on employer engagement.  Since the inception of this role, Stirling Management School have developed stronger links with employers, increased provision of work based learning, increased partnership work with the Career Development Centre to develop student’s career management skills, developed the MBA and MSc Business and Management Personal & Professional Development modules, and are about to introduce a dedicated module for all undergraduate students on Professional Development & Practice which will support students as they prepare for their transition into the workplace. New developments on their way include:

  • Strip Steel business simulation being offered to 4th years post dissertation submission
  • New (still to be identified) business simulation being offered to postgraduate taught HRM/IB/MGT students post exams
  • Amplify Trading business simulation being offered to all AAF/FIN TPGs late Spring with top students winning a week in London with investment company
  • HSBC sponsoring a prize for winning team who will present on a business issue/problem in front of senior managers
  • We have a CIMA Global Business Challenge team entering the competition this year for the first time
