Upon completing the Investment Analysis programme at the University of Stirling I consider myself fortunate to have had such a rare opportunity sought after by millions of students across the globe.
After a careful search, I was attracted to the University of Stirling because of its worldwide reputation and the quality of graduates it produces.
The friendly departmental staff, administrators, and welcoming atmosphere made my stay a memorable one. I knew I was on the right programme and in the right institution with the right culture and values. The campus is beautiful and this provided a natural environment conducive for my studies.
MSc Investment Analysis is one of the best financial education programmes in the UK and combines theory and practice. The weekly seminars for each module allowed one-on-one discussion as well as group discussions with the lecturers and other students. This great way to work collaboratively will be a big part of my future career.
The most interesting aspect was having classmates from different countries and backgrounds to offer multiple perspectives. Lectures were systematically and effectively delivered and the response rate of tutors to the queries of students was great.
The degree course gave me freedom to think of a research idea and test the outcomes. I felt extremely lucky to be in an environment that allowed me to conduct research on what interests me the most, so studying never felt boring. The research facilities and readily available quality supervision enabled me to conduct thorough research and write up an excellent dissertation which won the best taught postgraduate dissertation in the accounting and finance division. I had first-hand experience of why the University’s research was internationally recognised.
I was awarded the prestigious Karen Napier Scholarship to enrol on this course. I feel that I have blossomed as a person and become more confident and independent. I would recommend the University of Stirling to anyone because it offers lots of opportunities.
I am certain that Investment Analysis programme will remain one of the most sought after programmes in the UK. Completing the programme with a distinction has been my most rewarding educational experience. It has accentuated my resume and has been a great step towards furthering my education to doctorate level.
I would urge prospective students to throw themselves at the numerous opportunities Stirling offers. Opportunities can always be scaled down, but they make a big difference between getting one’s heart desire and having to settle for second best.
