Student support and COVID-19

We know that along with the excitement of starting your degree or coming to campus, there might be some nervousness too. Our Student Services Hub is here to make sure you get off to the best start and will support you throughout your time at Stirling.

Our Student Support Services

All Student Services will be available online. These include:

Support sessions

Live, digital support sessions, individual appointments and group workshops will be offered, in addition to one-to-one, confidential support. You can also use online live chat through the applicant portal to engage with our support services.

Study skills

Sessions on study skills and academic writing, health and wellbeing, and career development are also available. These will be a combination of live group sessions, appointments and 1-2-1 support.

Healthcare

There is also an NHS general medical practice and dental centre on our campus. Every student is entitled to register for these practices and benefit from the friendly, personal service they offer.

Big White Wall

All our students have access to our 24/7 online support with our partners at Big White Wall (BWW), a digital mental health support service. It's completely anonymous – so you can express yourself in confidence and openly.  In addition to BWW’s online community, users have access to a wealth of useful resources, including tailored self-help courses.

Gaining work experience

We work with organisations providing work-based learning and student placements/internships. Those that can continue with social distancing will go ahead (depending on provider agreement). We work with faculties to support credit-bearing placements and industry-based projects. Career-development resources are available to all students on our virtual learning platform – Canvas.
