The University of Stirling’s education courses are accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland with seven commendations, including one for being student-centred, and another for the high quality of our research-informed approaches.

Ranking and reputation


Successful completion of our course enables you to provisionally register with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and enter the Scottish Probationary Teacher Scheme. This entitles you to guaranteed employment for one year as a newly qualified teacher in a Scottish Local Authority school.
