The kind of personality we have has a huge impact on every aspect of how we live our lives –how we make decisions, how we work with others, how we learn and how we play to mention just a few.
When we think about how our personalities influence us in our careers and career decision-making, there are many factors to consider. We all want to find a job that suits us in terms of our goals, values, strengths and motivations. Some of us do this through good fortune and some of us work our way through a number of jobs until we find one that we want to make a career of.
There is a quicker way, though. Online personality tests allow us to get a sense of who we are, what we do well and which jobs we might be best suited to. The Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory suggests that there are 16 different types of personalities, all of which interact in the world in very different ways and are well suited to some careers whilst being less suited to others.
If you’re considering a few different career options, or indeed if you’re unsure of your future career direction, online personality tests can be a great help. They provide concrete suggestions for careers that you might want to pursue and the automated feedback you receive will not only provide food for thought in terms of your career plans, but will also offer some new insights into how your particular personality type operates in the world of work.
You can use this knowledge to inform your own career planning. Why not try the personality test available on our website and see which careers might suit you best?
When giving your answers, it’s best to go with your gut feeling. The questions will be set out in a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ format. Most of the time, you’ll probably have a clear sense of which one you want to go for, but if you don’t, it’s probably wise to choose the option that applies more often than not.
