Student Projects

  • Could your business benefit from an objective analysis of an opportunity or problem?
  • Do you have ideas about how to develop your business but haven’t time or resource to evaluate the options?
  • Would you like to contribute towards a student's degree programme and, in doing so, enable them to gain valuable skills and experience which are essential in the competitive graduate job market?

Our range of student projects could well be the answer. These work experience opportunities match students with organisations to undertake a defined project, either on a part-time or full-time basis:

Work-based projects for masters students

Delivered in partnership with the Universities of Edinburgh and Aberdeen, this new initiative, brings organisations and Masters students together to undertake collaborative projects across a range of sectors, particularly those linked to energy, life sciences, environmental issues, financial services and tourism. These high quality consultancy and research projects are carried over the summer by our masters students, overseen by leading academic practitioners in their field.

Accredited Student Work Experience Modules

Our Work Experience Module provides students with an opportunity to undertake a practical placement within a local organisation, these modules run for a total of 30 hours and are supported by lectures.

International Summer School

This internship module places students from overseas with local employers for a four week placement where they will undertake a project of benefit to the business, previous examples include working on marketing & communications for organisations and website development.  The placements are designed to help students to not only acquire valuable experience, but also to develop networking skills and some knowledge of the UK labour market.

The University of Stirling makes no charge to facilitate these project opportunities; however should you wish to pay the student, we are only too happy to advise on appropriate rates.  We do ask that any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the student are covered.
