I was awarded a first-class BA (hons) in English Studies at the University of Stirling in 2012. My final dissertation title was ‘Narrative Didacticism, Gender Ideology and the Process of Socialisation in Twentieth-Century Children's Literature'. I was supervised by Dr Bethan Benwell.

I subsequently returned to complete the MRes Humanities in 2014. My Masters dissertation focused on ‘The Practice and Representation of Reading and Education in Edinburgh, 1790-1870’. I was supervised by Dr Katie Halsey
