Transnational Nordic Film Culture and the Politics of Immigration
2015: MRes Film and Visual Culture, Bangor University
2014: BA (Hons) Film Studies, Bangor University
The focus of my research is concerned with the contemporary politics and representation of immigration in Nordic cinema. My PhD project will examine these themes across all five Nordic countries, interrogating power relationships by drawing on Gramsci's notion of hegemony and more recent Žižekian scholarship written on ideology in cinema.
I am supervised by Dr Pietari Kaapa and Professor Elizabeth Ezra and my research is funded by the AHRC through the doctoral training partnership in Scotland (SGSAH)
