Alison Linklater (born in 1934) is a Scottish artist living on Orkney. 

This work and one other were recently donated to the Art Collection by Helen Ross, an eminent psychologist and Honorary Reader in Psychology at the University of Stirling, who got to know the artist and her family when they were young in the Black Isle.
