I proudly share the jubilee of being born in 1967! Back in 1991-1992, I was the only German on the fairly new MSc in Public Relations programme. The strong accent first made me wonder how to possibly pass exams there… But my four lovely room mates looked after me well: two Scottish, one Irish and one English girl, two of them on my programme.
We had a fun spot, and simply walking to the University buildings each day was a pleasure. I made tons of pictures to capture all these ever changing special moments of light, colour, and atmosphere.
Our class was a colourful mix of 36 people from all around the world, and some of us are still in touch. The lecturers were much approachable and supportive: Danny Moss, Ann Dunne, Jacquie L’Etang, and Peter Meech (apologies to those I don’t remember).
I intensely enjoyed the excellent sports facilities. One hour of daily swimming and a hot water bottle kept me warm during a really cold summer when writing my dissertation in Fairview. Performing Mozart’s Coronation Mass with the University choir in Dunblane Cathedral at Christmas time was an absolute highlight.
It was lovely to revisit in 2013 with the family, see the development and meet Jen Foreman (Alumni Relations Manager). Again, tons of pictures were taken, this time with our mascot Bob McRob.
