I was on the Entertainment Commitee from 1973-76 and vividly remember Queen playing Pathfoot in 1974.

We had originally booked them to play when they toured with their first album, but Freddie Mercury got sick and the Scottish dates were cancelled.

In those days there were some honourable bands around and Queen proved to be one of them - they promised to play Stirling next time they toured, at the originally agreed fee. So when they toured with their second album, they did indeed come to Stirling. And played the same week that 'Seven Seas of Rhye' hit No. 1 on the singles chart, for that originally agreed fee of £50!
