The Study Zone in the Andrew Miller Building has been a great success in providing students with an alternative study space outside the traditional Library setting. The Zone has become immensely popular: offering an informal, social space for students to study and work collaboratively. However, the priority when creating the Zone was to get operational quickly with a necessarily utilitarian focus on furniture and computers. As a consequence the environment is rather shabby and drab.
Information Services were awarded with a grant to enhance the Study Zone by displaying the best entries from the University's 2014 Annual Photography Competition. The framed prints were added in January 2015 and they have added beauty and interest to this utilitarian space.
