The Hardship Fund exists to make small grants to Stirling students in cases of unexpected hardship. Part-funded by our generous alumni community, an award from the Fund can make a huge difference to someone experiencing hardship, both financially and emotionally.
Your gift to the Fund will go directly to a student struggling with the financial pressures of studying at University and often living away from home for the first time. Experience tells us that these kind of hardship grants are often the difference between a student continuing or abandoning their studies.
Since 2015 we have managed to help 192 students stay in their studies.
University of Stirling (registered charity number: SC011159) will receive 100% of your donation. You may be charged for one text message at your network's standard or charity rate. Always get the bill payers permission.

"Basically I don’t have the money to stay at uni. Every month I end up about £50 short, and I can’t keep getting into more and more debt. The course has been great (although expensive field trips are tough!) and I love living in Stirling, but my finances aren’t good. My student loan doesn’t even cover my rent and if I take on more shifts at work I won’t have time to get all my coursework and revision done this semester. My mum helps a lot but I know she can’t afford for me to take any more of her money. The stress is really getting to me and I don’t see how I can resolve my situation, so I think I should just withdraw now."
