There is much that can be gained from direct contact with people who work in the career field that interests the client. Alumni can provide a valuable source of information, from providing up to date information on a particular career, information on the career route(s) they have followed to possible contacts for networking. If you would be interested in becoming a career contact we would love to hear from you.
It is a project that provides opportunities for students to learn more about particular occupations by using the work experiences of Stirling alumni. All alumni members of the network will be asked to provide a 'career profile' via a series of questions about themselves, their current role and their career to date. This profile will be displayed on a protected part of the CDC website and in hard copy within the CDC.
As well as providing a career profile there is also the opportunity for alumni to choose to give careers-related advice, such as hints and tips about applying for jobs, to individual students who may request it.
When you register your career profile, you will be asked whether you are happy to provide advice to individual students. Your career profile will clearly indicate whether you are happy to be contacted and students will be encouraged to carefully read the profiles before requesting further contact.
All members are required to complete and submit a careers profile which will be visible from the CDC website. This profile will be posted onto the website, along with your first (given) name, degree subject and year, details of your current job (title, employer name, employer's main business and location) and contact email if you are happy to be contacted for further advice.
If you are still interested in participating, please complete this questionnaire (Word.doc, 143 KB) and return to the CDC at email@example.com or fax on + 44 (0)1786 467076.
