Paul Cowell

Paul Cowell is a Lecturer in Economics in the Stirling Management School, and is also a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.

He is a member of the Stirling Management School’s Learning and Teaching Committee, and of the University’s Widening Access Steering Group. Prior to being appointed as Lecturer, Paul completed both his undergraduate and doctoral degrees at Stirling. He was awarded a Teaching Impact Award in 2019 for the use of online teaching innovations, and won the Excellence in Teaching category of the student-led RATE awards in 2019 and 2020.

He is passionate about higher education in its design, delivery, and evaluation. His research interests combine pedagogy, education economics and behavioural economics. He is especially interested in higher education policy and graduate outcomes. Paul frequently liaises with and contributes to Academic Development to further enhance the Stirling student experience, and holds a PGCert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Stirling.

Paul is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE

Paul won the Teaching Impact Award in 2019 and 2020.
