The Scotland Hydro Nation Chair is investing in four mission led Research Leader Fellowships. We are seeking proposals from Scottish HEIs or Research Institutions to host fellowships for six years. The aim of the fellowships is to bring the Scottish water sector together and deliver on Scottish Water’s strategic ambitions.
The Scottish Water Hydro Nation Chair (HNC) provides the leadership to forge the collaborative relationships required to deliver the solutions for sustainable water management in Scotland. This new initiative is funded by Scottish Water in partnership with the Scottish Funding Council. The HNC is a catalyst for academic research and innovation specifically to support the Scottish water sector in delivering and going beyond net zero whilst delivering service excellence and offering great value and financial sustainability.
Hosted within Scotland’s International Environment Centre, as an institutionally and disciplinary agnostic platform, the HNC programme will promote collaboration across the Scottish water sector to deliver the solutions to challenges and opportunities identified as key priority missions within Scottish contexts. By promoting an inclusive pan-Scotland task force, the HNC brings together excellence across Scottish universities, research institutions, innovation centres together with the statutory agencies, industry including their supply chains, third sector organisations and communities. This will create an interdisciplinary research and innovation community to deliver on the net zero and climate challenges.
