Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Stirling Management School
Stirling Management School is committed to leading on issues to do with equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and recognises that diversity of staff and students benefits and enriches the work, learning and research experiences of the entire School community. The Faculty is working to embed EDI into its culture and working practices, supported by the University policy framework. You can read more about the University policies here.
As part of its commitment, Stirling Management School has an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Team (EDIT), responsible for promoting EDI, raising awareness, and addressing bias, inequality or discrimination. EDIT considers all protected characteristics (e.g. age, disability, race, religion, LGBT+).
EDIT is Chaired by Dr Adelina Broadbridge and has members representing the diversity of the Management School.
In 2021, the Management School EDIT successfully achieved the Athena Swan Bronze Award, a national award from the Equality Challenge Unit which recognises and promotes good practice around equality in higher education. To achieve an Athena Swan award, the Management School underwent a detailed and rigorous process of self-assessment and was required to demonstrate how the 10 principles of the Charter were incorporated into the Faculty.
EDIT is currently working to implement a 5-year Action Plan, agreed as part of the Athena Swan Award, designed to promote good practice, foster positive cultural change across the working environment and tackle inequality. You can read more about Athena Swan here.
New members are welcome, and the team also welcomes comments and feedback from all staff and students, so please get in touch.
