Objectives
The course aims are:
- to improve knowledge of current approaches to care, and support people with dementia and those who care for them
- to develop better understanding of how to promote change in dementia care, improving outcomes for people with dementia

By joining our distance learning courses in dementia studies, you'll become part of our international, multi-disciplinary community of students and academics; committed to creating change and improving dementia practice, and the experiences of those living with dementia.
Our education takes a theory-based and practice-oriented approach, to consider the diversity of living and dying with dementia. It encourages collaborative, interdisciplinary, critical and reflexive learning, and it seeks to produce leaders of change in the dementia field.
Delivery and assessment
A single blended learning course - worth 20 credits at SCQF level 10. It includes a one-day introductory session that takes place online followed by 14 weeks of online learning.
