Staff mentoring

Within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, our collaborative research environment is underpinned by a support structure that prioritises staff development and sees you as an individual – in respect of your research, your engagement with students and colleagues and your life outside the university.

Supporting your ambitions

All newly-appointed Grade 7 and Grade 8 academic staff in the Faculty benefit from a one-to-one mentoring programme that encourages you to identify, achieve and grow from defined career objectives relative to your grade and research profile. You will take a leading role in setting them, but dedicated help will be there, every step of the way, so that you can achieve these objectives and reach your full potential.

Working this way, we create an environment where you’ll feel we really give full weight and encouragement to your ambitions as the driving force behind your career and where you’ll also benefit from the support and experience of mentors in balancing these exciting and rewarding commitments with life as a whole. It’s just one of the many reasons to further your career and research at the University of Stirling.
