Alumni mentoring

Once you’re a student at The University of Stirling Management School you can benefit from our Alumni Career Mentoring Programme.

You’ll be able to make the transition from student to professional with the help of a contact working in industry. There’s no better way to gain industry knowledge and identify where your abilities and skills lie.

I would advise students to make the most of this programme and participate early as it is the opportunity to be mentored by a former graduate and leading employer to develop you as a person, as well as identify and develop your weaknesses such as interview techniques, CV, assessment centres and graduate skills development, which will help you prepare for the graduate market and increase your employability prospects. This is what you will gain by taking part in the Alumni Career Mentoring Programme.

Simron Kandola, Mentee

Through regular meetings with your mentor, you’ll develop confidence and be able to make informed career choices. They’ll also help you with advice on job applications and CV writing, and make you aware of internships and recruitment schemes that are open to graduates. Whatever you’re looking to gain from a mentor, you’ll come away with a new perspective on how you can achieve your career goals.

I really enjoyed the feeling that I could add value at no material outlay on my part. I also was very happy to be working with such a driven, smart mentee who was a credit to himself and to the University.
