To better understand the lack of fit between locally available labour and the skill requirements of a major employer, i.e. the hospitality sector;
To assess the current recruitment strategies of hotels in Scotland and the impact they may have on both the success and development of the business and also the accessibility to employment of the Scottish workforce;
Wherever possible, to draw on existing best practice in the case study hotels and add to other evidence of best practice across the sector to develop a best practice recruitment strategy;
To raise awareness and work with hotels to develop holistic recruitment, development and retention strategies, that are cost effective and supportive of business needs whilst also addressing issues of access to employment for young people and building community relationships.
