This project aims to identify the welfare impact of the transition from education to work and how well-being and decision-making strategies explain heterogeneity in employment outcomes. The proposed programme of work will centrally involve: a) specifying how core components of the well-being of young people are influenced by unemployment, and b) identifying how individual differences in well-being and personality traits determine engagement with activation services, search and entry to the labour force.
