BSc Professional Practice

The BSc in Professional Practice is an exciting programme designed to meet the needs of nurses, midwives and other health professions within the context of a dynamic healthcare economy.

Modules

Whether you are aiming to ‘top up’ your Diploma or equivalent earlier studies to a degree; update your clinical skills or develop expertise in a new area of practice, you will find a range of modules in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport to fulfil your personal and professional needs.

Modules are focused on addressing the emerging needs of healthcare systems both here in the UK and abroad. A major challenge in ensuring the quality of continuing professional development is the ability to address both the needs of students and healthcare providers. This programme is sympathetic to both by ensuring its modules are focused on addressing patient/client needs by being up to date and dynamic in addition to being delivered with the support of experts within the particular disciplines.

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport works closely with its practice and education partners to ensure that all its education provision is fit for purpose and the Faculty prides its self in its ability to be responsive to service needs.

The following modules can be taken either on a stand-alone basis or as part of the BSc in Professional Practice programme.

If you haven't undertaken university-level studies in some time

A key feature of this BSc is the Gateway to Further Studies Module.  This enables those healthcare professionals who have been out of study for some time to undertake a module that helps them develop academic skills. In addition, it draws heavily on their work based experiences to assist them to convert experience into tangible learning.
