Essential student guide to library and IT services

Come along to one of the sessions to find out everything you need to know about our library and IT services at Stirling, including how to:

  • print and make photocopies
  • access Wi-Fi
  • save files onto the network
  • access student email
  • use the Library
  • find journal articles
  • access the computing labs
  • get free Office software

All topics are presented in a series of videos. All students welcome.

How to be a successful student at Stirling

This presentation explores some of the attributes and skills undergraduate students need to be successful at the University of Stirling.  This session will give you an insight into what lecturers expect of you, how uni differs from school or college, how to get your studying organised and top tips on managing your assignments.  This is a great opportunity to get ahead and also ask any questions you have about settling into university.

Bridging Materials: All students who register for FREU9A1 will have access online (via Canvas) to a 4-week programme of Bridging Materials in the lead-up to the start of semester. These materials aim to help students with the transition from secondary school study of Languages to the University language learning environment. They are structured around the different elements of our Semester 1 French Advanced module (FREU9A1), as well as offering more generic Study Skills advice for Languages students and other information about studying French. From First Year to Final Year: Informal get-together to which all Semester 1 students on degrees involving French (whether FREU9A1 or FREU9B1) will be invited, along with students who are about to start their final year of study on degrees with French. An opportunity to hear about the experiences of French finalists and to ask any questions about studying French, Study Abroad, etc. Cristina Johnston TBC (within first four weeks of semester) TBC
