Brief itinerary

  • Morning: 9.30 Pick-up, Stirling Court Hotel or 10am Stirling Train Station
  • The twelfth-century Augustinian abbey of Cambuskenneth close to the site of the battle of Stirling Bridge (1297)
  • Stirling’s magnificent fifteenth-century Church of the Holy Rude
  • Stirling Castle – With its location rivalling even Edinburgh Castle’s for sheer magnificence as it sits on its high volcanic rock, visible for many miles in every direction, the castle has played a prominent role in Scotland’s past since the twelfth century
  • Lunch at a historic pub
