(Black foamboard, fishing line and aluminium rods, 2016)
Ally Wallace worked as Artist in Residence in the Pathfoot building in 2016-2017 on a self-initiated project made possible by a Creative Scotland grant. He made work focused on Pathfoot’s modernist architecture in relation to the art collection housed in it, the surrounding landscape and the people who use the building. The rectangular forms in this mobile (hanging above) are based on the proportions of Pathfoot's concrete fascia panels and their floating, constantly changing positions refer to the buildings lightweight, flexible design.
This work can be seen hanging above the stairs in Pathfoot Gallery 4
