Norman MacBeth (1821-88)

q51

Portrait of Peter Drummond of Stirling
(Oil on canvas, 1867)

Norman MacBeth was a 19th Century artist who painted the portraits of many eminent Scots.

Peter Drummond was the founder of the Stirling Tract Enterprise which, until a few years ago, continued to publish and promote Christian thinking throughout Scotland. When the Enterprise stopped functioning, this portrait was gifted to the University by The Drummond Trust, as the archive is already held here. The portrait can currently be seen in the Pathfoot Crush Hall gallery.
