King and Queen (Brushed aluminium sculptures, 2007)
Born in Mufulira, Zambia in 1976, Nick Evans grew up in the south west of England. He studied at Glasgow School of Art (Sculpture and Environmental Art) and the Royal College of Fine Arts, Stockholm. He lives and works in Glasgow.
In 2008 he held a residency at the European Ceramic Work Centre in the Netherlands and was awarded the National Galleries' inaugural Artists' Fellowship Programme in collaboration with Creative Scotland in 2011. Recent exhibitions include Glasgow Tramway and the McManus Art Gallery and Museum, Dundee.
King and Queen was purchased by the Art Collection with assistance from the National Fund for Acquisitions. This work can be seen in one of the Pathfoot Courtyards off the Crush Hall.
