(Pen on paper, 2012)

Born in 1963, Gwen Hardie studied at Edinburgh College of Art. She was the youngest living artist ever to be given a solo show at The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh. She went on to study in Berlin with Georg Baselitz and then lived in London during the 1990s, before moving to New York in 2000.

This and another work were donated by the artist to the University of Stirling Art Collection following an exhibition in which she exhibited alongside her father James and sister Amy. A catalogue of the Hardie Family exhibition can be purchased in the Pathfoot Crush Hall or online.
