Born in 1966, Graham Fagen graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1988 and the interdisciplinary MA Art and Architecture from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in 1990.
He lives in Glasgow and is one of Scotland's and the UK's foremost contemporary artists. He will represent Scotland at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015. He is also Senior Lecturer at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
Plants and flowers are recurrent motifs in his art, as he explores their ability to suggest various meanings: social, emotional, personal and national. This work is part of a major project entitled 'For St Agnes' which was commissioned by Foreground for Bristol City Council in 2010. It is currently on display in the Cottrell Building reception area.
