Catriona Munro studied Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art and graduated in 2009. She was chosen as one of the Royal Scottish Academy's New Contemporaries for her 'Glasploitation' (Glaswegian exploitation) film Babes Beyond the Barras.
In 2015 she took part in a group exhibition in the Pathfoot Buidling entitled 'When the Muse Looks Back. Picturing the Poetess'. This was organised by Dr Sarah Parker, Impact Research Fellow at the University of Stirling who invited three photographers to create works inspired by images of women poets from 1880-1930 and by the aesthetics employed by women photographers from Julia Margaret Cameron to Berenice Abbot.
After the exhibition, Catriona Munro donated the seven images she had created to the Art Collection and these are currently displayed in A7 on the A corridor in the Pathfoot Building.
