Bridget Riley CH CBE

Born in London in 1931, Bridget Riley studied at Goldsmiths College (1949-52) and the Royal College of Art (1952-55).

Impressed by Jackson Pollock's work, she became renowned for arresting 0p-Art trompe l'oeil patterns, which deceive and trick the eye - initially mostly black and white, but later adding the dimension of colour.
