Pathfoot Roof Ladders
(Linocut, 2017)

Born in Lanark, Ally Wallace graduated with BA (Hons) in Painting from University of Sunderland in 1985, and MA in Site-Specific Sculpture (with Distinction) from Wimbledon College of Art in 1998. He is now based in Glasgow and works across a range of disciplines – including installation, drawing, painting, sculpture and video – to create artworks in response to chosen locations. His works are often exhibited in the spaces to which they relate. In 2016/17 he worked on a self-initiated residency in the Pathfoot Building, made possible by a Creative Scotland grant. He made work focused on the modernist architecture of the building in relation to the art collection housed in it, the surrounding landscape and the people who use the building, and this was subsequently exhibited as ‘Low-Rise, High-Function’  in the Autumn of 2017 in the Pathfoot Building.

Throughout his career he has received major awards and has exhibited his work internationally.
